Yuma Union: Cibola High School
Partners with ASU Prep

Since 1988, Cibola High School has focused on creating a collaborative environment with an emphasis on problem-solving. To prepare students for the future, Cibola High School works with students to create an Educational Career Action Plan (ECAP). This plan personalizes the student experience and to further do this, they have partnered with ASU Prep Global to expand educational resources for students.

Innovation

Cibola High School centers its curriculum on project-based learning to provide students with long-term educational experiences. Cibola Raiders are given multiple resources such as concurrent enrollment, dual enrollment, and work-based learning. Now, in partnership with ASU Prep Global virtual and blended learning options are available to students.

Through digital course licensing, Cibola High School students have access to a personalized global academy with customized lessons catering to each individual student’s learning needs. Teachers also have access to teacher training to help expand their resources as they assist students in their long-term educational success. Cibola High School acknowledges that each student has different interests and values and uses distance learning as a flexible and engaging option for their community.

I am thankful for the opportunity to serve on this council and share the great things happening at Kofa High School and in Yuma Union High School District.  I hope I can give the council insight into what is happening in high schools and the challenges our students are facing.
