Innovation

Tullahoma Virtual Academy (TVA) is an educational venture launched in August 2021 by Tullahoma City School, catering to the diverse needs of 9-12 grade students within the district. This innovative institution, the eighth in the Tullahoma City School network, has reshaped the educational landscape by providing a dynamic virtual learning experience for all students. As a response to the evolving educational landscape, TVA emerged from the lessons learned during the 2020-2021 school year when a virtual option became essential. However, the groundwork for a virtual school had been laid much earlier, reflecting the district’s commitment to offering alternative learning pathways. TVA sets itself apart by delivering all courses asynchronously online, giving students unparalleled flexibility to engage with their classes on their terms. TVA recognizes that virtual learning isn’t a shortcut; it demands the same dedication and effort as traditional in-person classes. The distinctive feature of asynchronous learning lies in empowering students to decide when and where they participate in their educational journey.

With three distinct pathways – Full-Time, Flex, and Plus One – TVA accommodates various educational needs. Full-Time students enjoy access to a comprehensive catalog of 55 online classes, including core subjects, honors, and CTE courses. Flex provides unparalleled flexibility, allowing students to customize their schedules with a blend of virtual and in-person classes. Plus One is designed for students to take an additional virtual class during a semester, offering a chance to get ahead on credits or address scheduling conflicts. TVA is not just about providing academic instruction; it’s a holistic approach to education that addresses the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development of each student. The curriculum, carefully revised to meet global workplace requirements, ensures a thorough and sequential program of instruction. Beyond academics, the school places equal importance on guidance, art, music, physical education, and library skills to nurture well-rounded, productive citizens.

In a groundbreaking partnership, Tullahoma Virtual Academy collaborates with ASU Prep Global to elevate the educational experience for students. This collaboration brings forth a personalized global academy, harnessing the power of distance learning, teacher training, and customized lessons. Together, Tullahoma Virtual Academy and ASU Prep Global are pioneering a new era in education, preparing students for success in the 21st-century workforce.

The partnership with ASU Prep Global allows us to tap into their extensive resources and expertise, enhancing our ability to deliver a world-class education to our students.
