Amy McGrath

VP of EOSS, Managing Director of ASU Preparatory Academy

Amy McGrath is a Vice President of Educational Outreach and Student Services for Arizona State University, the Managing Director of ASU Preparatory Academy charter school and the Chairman of the Board for ASU Prep Global.

Amy leads the work at ASU Prep to design new models to increase engagement and outcomes for all learners, and scales those innovations in partnership with over 300 school districts nationally via ASU Prep Global.

She co-designed the Khan World School in partnership with Sal Khan and is passionate about incorporating emergent technology to increase engagement and learning.

Amy has worked and advocated at both the state and national level, and writes extensively on innovation and its relationship to opportunity.

She has worked with international school leaders to understand blended learning, and, at Florida Virtual School, she was charged with testing, developing, and scaling up educational technology products for the school’s six hundred thousand learners. She sits on the board for the World Series of Entrepreneurship and Trace Academy and is passionate about redesigning the student experience from the inside out.

Amy is a University of South Florida graduate with a Bachelor’s in Social Science Education and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. She is happily married with 3 children who help remind her what kids really want when it comes to education.

David Sudarma

CTO

David is the Chief Technology Officer of ASU Preparatory Academy and ASU Prep Digital. Though new to Education and EdTech, David brings years of experience with him in technology and business on multiple fronts. Most recently David left his position as CTO of Cru, a large worldwide non-profit. Prior to that David owned his own Creative and Development agency working with clients like Microsoft, John Maxwell, Nintendo, the State of California and more. David is passionate about User Experience and marrying end-user needs and goals with business objectives and strategy. He doesn’t do life alone! He’s married with 3 kiddos and currently resides in Orlando Florida. In his free time, he’s out and about trying delicious food, DIYing his house and playing music at church.

Rachna Mathur

Rachna Mathur

Sr. STEM Strategist & Emerging Tech Teacher at ASU Prep, MLFTC AI Researcher (EdD 2024), CEO STEMology Club

Rachna Mathur, an accomplished STEM educator, computer engineer, and performing artist, brings over two decades of expertise to the Arizona AI in Education Statewide Summit. As the founder of STEMology Club, she champions after-school STEM programs, advocacy, and consulting. Her journey includes a decade as a software and product marketing engineer at Intel, blending technical acumen with educational innovation.

At ASU Preparatory Academy, Rachna serves as the inaugural STEM Strategist, shaping a vision for K-12 STEM leadership in Arizona. Her role involves nurturing student curiosity in STEM fields, designing new programs, and focusing on semiconductor and emerging technologies education. Concurrently, she is pursuing a doctorate at ASU’s Teachers College, focusing on AI adoption and AI literacy strategies in educational institutions.

Rachna’s blend of creativity, passion, and dedication not only makes her a role model but also a pivotal figure in STEM education and AI literacy.

Meg Grothman

Director of Arizona Impact and Math Innovation

As the Director of Math Innovation and the current Director of Arizona Impact, Meg Grothman has been an integral part of ASU Prep since she began as a teacher in 2014. In her role at Arizona Impact, she passionately supports schools throughout the state, helping them leverage university assets to maximize their potential and reach. Meg’s dedication to ASU Prep’s vision is evident in her unwavering commitment to devising solution-oriented strategies.

Throughout her tenure at ASU Prep, Meg has worn multiple hats that have been pivotal for school success, including roles in training and coaching. In her previous position as Global Partnership Manager, she championed the implementation and widespread success of ASUPD models in schools around the world.

Meg thrives in her collaborations with districts, continuously seeking innovative solutions that address the evolving needs of their communities. She remains resolute in her mission to open doors of opportunity for every learner.

Alessandra Allen

Director of Product Management

Alessandra is Director of Product Management at ASU Prep. She brings over 11 years of expertise in K-12 ed tech alongside valuable insights garnered from client services at a creative agency and her tenure at a major record label. Beginning her journey at Florida Virtual School, she honed her skills in product marketing and social media, gaining profound knowledge of the education landscape and its diverse user groups. This experience ignited her passion for enhancing user experiences in ed tech, driving her to spearhead product vision and roadmap at ASU Prep over the last 4 years. Alessandra is a dedicated strategist and problem solver committed to making a difference in education.

Senior Experience Strategist

Matthew has lived around the world helping build great teams uncovering clear solutions to hard problems that practically enhance people’s lives for lasting good. As a Senior Experience Strategist with Prep’s Product and Data teams, he is at his best when able to hold up a clear vision of the future, connect diverse people and resources to solve the problem, and ensure the people we serve experience their desired outcome.
